Practice Schedule

Practice is held every Wednesday evening at the New Ark United Church of Christ, 300 E. Main St, Newark, DE 19711.

Practice begins at 6:30pm with a short orientation for beginners, followed by chanting. We then have two 25 minute periods of sitting meditation with a 10 minute period of walking meditation in between.

Free Meditation Instruction sessions will be scheduled as requested. Send an email to DVZCinfo@gmail.com and ask to be added to the next instruction class. 

There is no fee to attend our practice, you do not have to be a member.

Participation in a retreat at the   Delaware Valley Zen Center (DVZC) may be physically demanding and/or may involve some risk of physical injury. If you have any concerns about your ability to sit this retreat or to do any training or any work, please speak with the Head Dharma Teacher or DVZC Abbot. We ask you to accept this waiver of liability by checking "I Accept" above, acknowledging that you accept these conditions of the retreat and are aware of the voluntary nature of all activities at DVZC retreats. By checking "I Accept" below you indicate that you understand that the activities which you may undertake at a DVZC retreat may be physically demanding and/or may involve some risk of physical injury, and you agree to assume all risks. By choosing "I Accept" below you understand that participation in any activity at the retreat is voluntary, and you agree that you will not participate in any activity for which you have reason to believe that you are ill-suited, physically incapable, or which creates for you personally a risk of harm. You agree to inform the DVZC of any existing medical conditions, which are relevant to your participation in any activities or retreats. You agree to bear all medical costs and hereby waive and release the DVZC for any claim of liability against the DVZC, or its members, and indemnify DVZC against any loss by it as a result of your injury.
